Oxidisation

Oxidisation is aluminium corrosion caused by stone chipping, kerb scuffing, brake dust and the elements. In some cases, wheels are badly deteriorated by rusting, this leaves large porosity holes under the paint and deep into the metal.

We take every precaution to remove as much of this corrosion as possible. Occasionally it is impossible to remove all of the oxidisation which could result in further rapid deterioration, subsequently the finish may have the appearance of dirt or a similar substance under the lacquer leaving a bubbled effect.

The alternative to the above finish of machining polishing and lacquering is a fine machine polish with no lacquer or a hand mirror polish with no lacquer - This is then kept clean using a product such as auto sol.

The results we achieve are only as good as the condition of the wheel allows.

Complete alloy wheel refurbishing is a process carried out to exacting quality standards to ensure a uniform and consistent finish. No liability can be accepted for continuing oxidisation that occurs prior and subsequent to refurbishing. Therefore no guarantee can be given to the length of time the refurbishment will last.
